Can someone tell me how to make cuts in my posts?

Thanks. The only problem is that little dash isnt available when I go to make text posts and never has been. I dont know why. I only have the B, I, U, and link available with an HTML tag. But I tried to make a cut with HTML and it didnt work. So Tumblr hates me and I’m giving up because I get frustrated and this isnt worth that. But thank you.
