Four of those things were on the list I gave my mother. All in all it wasnt totally disappointing, I dont want to be ungrateful, but there was plenty on the list (all of which was affordable) that wasnt even touched. In the end I’ll probably just get that stuff for myself. I’m too happy about Huff, and the perfume, to really complain. But I definitely could’ve used more socks. At least I know what to spend the gift card on now.

My dad isnt coming over to spend Christmas with the family today. He just called me. Why couldnt he have told me this a week ago? We’ve been having awkward family Christmases since I was ten and my parents split up. My mother always invited him and he always came. This will be the second in 25 years that he doesnt. It sucks but at the same time its fine. Indifference has always been one of my defaults and I guess its better that way. But I’ll have super nephew to distract me so I think I’ll be OK.

On commercials, people bake cookies and they’re all chewy and the chocolate chips are all gooey. Then I bake the same cookies and while they’re good, cookies are always good, they’re hard. They’re never fuckin chewy and Duncan Hines or Pillsbury or whoever totally owes me an explanation.
