Yeah, and unlike many people I think the whole “in love” versus “love” thing is kinda horseshit, to me there’s not a difference if you are talking about real love. Like the that first rush you get when you’re first with someone … that’s often passion not true, real love. I think people put too much emphasis on this idea of being “in love”.They don’t recognize that all relationships change and transform.
Love is definitely love. Friendships are as important as lust and marriage and family…people need all of it to survive. Who you love, how you love, can complete you as a person. I know Erin and Dave had their moments but even at that first meeting, with all the tension and side-eying in the room, everything that happened before that moment was in there with them. In my headcanon, he’d been chasing after her one way or another since she was in the Academy. And she allowed herself to be caught on more than one occasion. That’s why they’re my OTP, the story pretty much tells itself and its a great one.
You go through these phases where you’re like “Oh yeah, fuck that, I love Michael Bolton!”
When the guy you’re in love with, and pretty much been for half your life, when his wife adores you too. Its a little tricky.
